Western Cape getaway {Part 1}

I had one of the most amazing little holidays recently and in the spirit of sharing, I'm going to tell you all about it! 

12th February

We arrived on the Friday and made our way to our very quaint little accommodation, Brenton View. Before we headed  off to Brenton on Sea we first had to organize a car rental - Travel Tip: George airport isn't as quiet as you would expect so book a car before hand! Thrifty car rental managed to hook us up with a little polo but otherwise all the other car rental places were completely out of cars! We stopped at Buffelsbaai for an unexciting lunch at the Buffalo Bay restaurant which luckily the view made up for.

A few hours out of Joburg and already I have no shoes on! 

After lunch we stopped at the Belvidere Church which is super old, it was built in 1855! It was 'closed' to the public but we snuck in anyway and had a look at the creepy graveyard.

We dropped off our baggage at our house and had a look around. It really was the perfect accommodation and we paid virtually nothing for it!

Lastly we stumbled across a Friday Night market which turned out to be pretty cool. We had coffee and some incredible mini doughnuts whilst we people watched and got a feel for the locals of Knysna.

We ended the day with a braai at our house and got an early night's sleep in preparation for the wedding the following day! 

13th February

The wedding only started at 3 so after a pancake breakfast (by moi) we set off to play on the beach. It was very windy and overcast so after an hour or 2 of walking around and exploring the rocks we called it a day and went for cocktails (Pina Colada #1) and a light lunch.

... followed by being hit by a MASSIVE wave!! 

After spending way too much time messing around, we rushed back home to get ready for the wedding. I had put about a bottle of gel in my hair to attempt to control the "Humidy frizz" but this was undone by being hit by the wave and so a second hair effort attempt as undertaken.

The wedding was held at the stunning Villa Castollini and it was done so beautifully! The bride looked stunning, there were little games for us all to play (bowls, croquet, etc) whilst the wedding party had their photos taken and the buffet style dinner was superb! It was just a lovely day and evening all together. Thank-you Cynthia and Dilin for having us and I wish you all the very best for your future together!
