Magnum - Nelson Mandela Square

On the 10th of March, Travis and I were invited to attend the media launch of the Magnum pop up store in Nelson Mandela Square. It was a night filled with fashion, friends, local celebrities and of course ICE-CREAM!

Jeannie D

Jeannie D hosted the evening - she looked absolutely breath-taking in her Gert Coetzee dress.

Magnum has teamed up with Gert-Johan Coetzee and he has created a Magnum inspired 'M Collection' which consists of a range of beautiful gowns and accessories.

We got to see 5 dresses at the launch, each designed after the Magnum classics, Mint, Almond, White Almond and Death by Chocolate ice creams.

“I really loved working with Magnum on this collection.” said Gert-Johan Coetzee, “I was inspired by the colours, textures and of course the decadent taste of Magnum’s classic flavours and I think the dresses have truly brought them to life.”

I was lucky enough to win an M Collection wrap on the night :)

Gert and his designs
At the launch we each got design our very own Magnum! First we had to decide between, white chocolate, dark chocolate or milk chocolate ice-cream, followed by 3 toppings and then a final coat of chocolate. There were so many topping options, it was a difficult decision but I eventually chose white chocolate ice-cream with mint, chocolate popping candy and chocolate covered honey-comb.

The store opens to the public on 12 March 2016 for 8 weeks.
A personailsed Magnum will cost you R44.95 which includes 3 toppings of your choice. Pretty steep but if you're a true Magnum lover then I'd still recommend you give it a go!

Store Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 9am - 8pm
Friday – Saturday: 9am - 10pm
Sunday: 9am – 6pm

  1. This was an interesting writing. I guess, that this is one of those things I would like to see by my own eyes.
